Door County

This week we had a WONDERFUL vacation in Door County with Gramps & Jude, Jessie & Sam, Nic, and our friends David, Naomi & Ari. We stayed in a house on 13 acres of land with 500 feet of Lake Michigan shoreline. We enjoyed bikes, kayaks, croquet, basketball (ask Casey who won "pig"), camp fires, and more. I can't remember a time when I needed a vacation so badly & one that truly disconnected me from computers & phones.
Above is the garage apartment where the Cobbs stayed. It housed a collection of 1960's Schwinn bikes.

our lovely house

We had such a cute room all set up with a toddler bed.
We arrived around 10:30 at night and fell asleep with the windows open
and the sound of the waves lulling us to sleep.
When we woke, I felt like I was in a fairy tale cottage.
The floors were big, old planks of painted wood & the rooms joined in a crooked & charming way.

A very cute farm stand that Casey, Stephan, Ari & Norah and I rode to on our bikes.

At the Sister Bay marina and playground....

Stephan loved the kayaks!

enjoying the deck by the lake

Stephan proclaimed "This is one of the best vacations! It's like a Harry Potter house!"
The beach house was full of all sorts of fun treasures.
Stephan & Ari enjoyed a scavenger hunt & created a mystery to pursue in the house.

Norah was thrilled with the big swing set!

All the kids got to drive the boat with Gramps....

....even Norah!

Norah & Uncle Sam venturing off on Horseshoe Island

Norah loved the troll at Al Johnsons

The famous Al Johnson goats!

We had cool weather, but it was perfect for our trip.
I love the change in seasons & some of the trees were even beginning to turn colors.
Now that we are home, the air is crisp & we are using our fire place again.
